Grand Challenges Explorations Grants - Innovation in Global Health Research (Round 6)
Descrição
Grand Challenges Explorations (GCE) supports hundreds of early-stage research projects – including many ideas that have never before been tested - and scientists from a wide range of disciplines and regions. The Explorations initiative funds innovative ideas that could lead to new vaccines, diagnostics, drugs, and other technologies targeting diseases that claim millions of lives every year. Each round of the Grand Challenges Explorations initiative awards grants against a set of specific topics. In addition, Foundation consider whether a topic will engage the participation from scientists outside traditional global health disciplines, as well as researchers working in the developing world. For Round 6, the topics are:
1.     Design New Approaches to Cure HIV Infection;

Abbott Laboratories Award in Clinical and Diagnostic Immunology

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is the world's largest scientific society of individuals interested in the microbiological sciences. The mission of the ASM is to advance the microbiological sciences as a vehicle for understanding life processes and to apply and communicate this knowledge for the improvement of health and environmental and economic well-being worldwide. Abbott Award in Clinical and Diagnostic Immunology honors a distinguished scientist in clinical or diagnostic immunology for outstanding contributions to those fields.

Data Limite: October 1, 2010. ASM Awards are granted at the discretion of award selection committees and may not be awarded every year.

Abbott-ASM Lifetime Achievement Award

The ASM Awards are dedicated to acknowledging the best in microbiology. They are administered by the American Academy of Microbiology and encompass the many subspecialties of microbiology, including biotechnology, clinical microbiology, environmental microbiology, antimicrobial chemotherapy, immunology, and virology, as well as education and service to the profession.The Abbott-ASM Lifetime Achievement Award is the American Society for Microbiology's premier award for sustained contributions to the microbiological sciences.

BD Award for Research in Clinical Microbiology

The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is the world's largest scientific society of individuals interested in the microbiological sciences. The mission of the ASM is to advance the microbiological sciences as a vehicle for understanding life processes and to apply and communicate this knowledge for the improvement of health and environmental and economic well-being worldwide. The BD Award for Research in Clinical Microbiology honors a distinguished scientist for research accomplishments that form the foundation for important applications in clinical microbiology.

BioMérieux Sonnenwirth Award for Leadership in Clinical Microbiology
Descrição
The BioMérieux Sonnenwirth Award for Leadership in Clinical Microbiology is given in memory of Alexander Sonnenwirth, Ph.D. This award recognizes a distinguished microbiologist for the promotion of innovation in clinical laboratory science, dedication to ASM, and the advancement of clinical microbiology as a profession.
Data Limite: October 1, 2010. ASM awards are granted at the discretion of award selection committees and may not be awarded every year. 


BBSRC International Scientific Interchange Scheme (ISIS)
Descrição
BBSRC's International Scientific Interchange Scheme (ISIS) provides support to help scientists make and establish new contacts with their international counterparts. This scheme is open to proposals involving collaborations with any other country, although BBSRC is particularly interested in promoting further links with the USA, Canada, Brazil, EU Member States, Japan, China, India, Australia and New Zealand.
Data Limite: The scheme is open to bids at any time (at least 6 weeks before travel) with payments being made in advance of any visits. The BBSRC aims to notify applicants of the outcome within six weeks. 


Auxílios de Curta Duração: Auxílio Participação em Eventos Científicos - AVG
Descrição
O objetivo do programa de Auxílio Participação em Eventos Científicos - AVG é apoiar a participação de pesquisador com desempenho destacado em sua área de atuação em eventos científicos no exterior, tais como:
1.     Congressos e similares;
2.     Intercâmbio científico ou tecnológico;
3.     Visitas de curta duração, para aquisição de conhecimentos específicos e necessários ao desenvolvimento da pesquisa científica ou tecnológica.
Data Limite: A solicitação para o auxílio exige um prazo de 90 dias antes do início da atividade ou evento.


Auxílios de Curta Duração: Auxílio Pesquisador Visitante (APV)
Descrição
O objetivo do Auxílio Pesquisador Visitante (APV) é possibilitar ao pesquisador brasileiro ou estrangeiro, de reconhecida competência, a colaboração com grupos de pesquisa, de instituições públicas ou comunitárias nacionais, para o desenvolvimento de linhas de pesquisa ou desenvolvimento tecnológico.
Data Limite: A solicitação deve ser efetuada 90 dias antes do início da atividade ou evento.
